Chapter Eighty-Four
At noon, Ye Nanxun got off work on time.
The weather had been nice lately. It could reach eighteen or nineteen degrees during the day, but the spring wind was cool, so he still needed to put on a coat before going out.
After taking off his white lab coat, Ye Nanxun lowered his head to smooth the wrinkles in his shirt and pants. He reached for the khaki trench coat hanging on the hook and put it on, then retied his hair in front of the mirror before leaving.
His long, thick, curly black hair was tied back with a ribbon, falling behind him. A few loose strands framed his cheeks, lending him a gentle, scholarly air.
Instead of his usual three-piece set of mask, scarf, and knit cap, he wore only a mask and scarf today.
After packing up Mushroom Egg and fastening Little Yellow Dog's leash, Ye Nanxun closed the laboratory door.
It was lunchtime, and colleagues gradually began leaving the labs.
"Professor Ye, off work?"
"Yes."
"Going to the cafeteria for lunch? Want to come with us?"
"No, thank you. I made plans to have lunch with a friend today."
After exchanging greetings, Ye Nanxun walked out of the laboratory building and saw Professor Li Suihuan standing at the entrance, talking on the phone.
He walked over and smiled, nodding at her in greeting.
Li Suihuan smiled and nodded back at Ye Nanxun, then continued speaking to the person on the other end of the call. "The hospital said Professor Jiang will need at least a semester to recover from these injuries... His head was injured, so there may or may not be lasting effects... From what the dean means, those graduate students under him may need to change advisors..."
