Every word Otsutsuki Illusion spoke struck Uchiha Yuu's ears like a depth charge. He had never expected the other man's desire for the clan's strength to outweigh his own interests.
After all, compared to Otsutsuki Energy, he was merely an Otsutsuki hybrid who had brought endless slaughter upon the clan. Under normal circumstances, the other man could never have been willing to share any benefits with Uchiha Yuu, yet he had now made an unimaginable choice.
Uchiha Yuu did not immediately answer. He merely looked at Otsutsuki Illusion for a long while before saying,
"You should understand what you're saying. This concerns the future of the clan."
"Becoming one of the Three Lords would mean I control the Otsutsuki Clan from now on. Aren't you worried that I'll purge all of you?"
The promise the other man offered was incomparably tempting, yet Uchiha Yuu's eyes remained clear, as though what was being discussed had nothing to do with him.
"You think I'm setting a trap for you?"
Otsutsuki Illusion lightly shook his head. In response to the question Uchiha Yuu had just raised, he merely smiled calmly and said,
"I have never worried about being purged, because I have always been confident in my own strength. If you can rely on your power to purge me, or even turn me into a Chakra Fruit, I will not resist."
"To be honest, I have no reason to reject your terms. After all, this is the best way to control the Otsutsuki Clan."
With only a few words between them, the two had decided the future of the Otsutsuki Clan. If Otsutsuki Energy had been here, he likely would have broken with Otsutsuki Illusion on the spot.
"Unfortunately, you said that too late. It doesn't serve my current interests."
