Ch. 121Flying Thunder God Teleportation Barrier
Chapter Summary
Uchiha Kyu agrees to Konan’s request to revive Nagato and Yahiko, provided she can guarantee their loyalty to the Immortal Empire. Konan promises that her former companions will dedicate themselves to the Empire and peace, explaining that an earlier appearance by the Empire might have prevented Akatsuki’s formation and their eventual fall into conflict. Kyu, showing his affection and attachment to Konan, accepts her request.
After Shikaku Nara safely returns from sealing Mōryō, he meets Hyuga Hiashi to discuss the Dragon Vein. They conclude that its power connects parallel worlds and may even link different points in time. Shikaku raises a sensitive concern: whether an alternate version of Uchiha Kyu exists in the other world, and how the Empire should respond if he does. Recognizing that only their ruler can decide such a matter, they set it aside and begin drafting plans to exploit the Dragon Vein’s interdimensional power.
Shikaku sends Mōryō to Orochimaru as a conciliatory gift for past grievances. Orochimaru becomes interested in the demon as experimental material and immediately takes it to a secluded location for study. Shikaku is relieved, since he fears provoking Orochimaru due to their unpleasant history under the Third Hokage.
Meanwhile, Fugaku Uchiha and Minato Namikaze struggle to relocate the Dragon Vein in Roran. Its immense space-time energy cannot be contained by ordinary sealing scrolls, and an earlier disturbance accidentally caused the alternate-world Minato to appear. Minato narrowly avoided being pulled across dimensions—or destroyed—by using the Flying Thunder God Technique. Both men are also anxious about returning home before their wives, Mikoto and Kushina, give birth.
Minato questions why the Dragon Vein must be moved now that Roran has joined the Empire. Fugaku argues that leaving it exposed would require a heavy military presence and reveal the Empire’s strategic weakness. After receiving their report, Kyu decides the Dragon Vein should indeed be brought under the Empire’s direct control. Since the Flying Thunder God can manipulate space, the plan is to construct two massive barriers—one in Roran and one in the Empire—to create a connected teleportation array capable of transporting the Dragon Vein.
Character Developments and Interactions

- Shikaku and Orochimaru: Shikaku attempts to repair old tensions by sending Mōryō, while Orochimaru’s scientific curiosity overrides any concern about their past.
- Fugaku and Minato: Their partnership reveals contrasting personalities: Fugaku is cautious and politically minded, while Minato is more pragmatic and emotionally focused on returning to Kushina and their unborn child.
