Ch. 21Raiding the Home Base

Uchiha Enkō led a Chinoike Clan raid on the Senju Clan camp, where his Human Bombs and surprise attack overwhelmed the rear patrol. Sarutobi Sasuke intervened while Uzumaki Mito withdrew with the unconscious Junyan, leaving Enkō and Sasuke about to fight.

  • Senju Junyan led a patrol around the camp and reassured his subordinates that the Senju Clan would win the war.
  • Enkō's disguised Human Bombs exploded among Junyan's patrol, and Enkō killed a subordinate before defeating Junyan with his Sharingan and a kick.
  • The Chinoike Clan finished off the remaining patrol members, and Enkō sent Yan One deeper into Senju territory to raid the camp.
  • Sarutobi Sasuke and Uzumaki Mito arrived; Sasuke identified Enkō as the Uchiha Clan's third leader and said he would fight him alone.
  • Sasuke trapped Enkō behind an Earth Release wall long enough for Mito to leave with Junyan, then Enkō broke free and faced Sasuke.

Ch. 22Heaven's Pobei

Enkō fought Sarutobi Sasuke, who used his mastery of all nature transformations and summoned Enma to battle him. Enkō ended the fight by using Heaven's Pobei to worsen Sasuke's injuries, but the ocular technique left Enkō on his knees as his Susanoo dissolved.

  • Enkō rushed Sarutobi Sasuke, who countered with Wind Release and Lightning Release before Enkō attacked with Fire Release.
  • Sarutobi Sasuke summoned Enma, who transformed into a Ruyi Staff and helped him knock Enkō down.
  • Enkō protected himself with Susanoo and punched Sarutobi Sasuke away, while both fighters suffered from their injuries and abilities.
  • Enkō used Heaven's Pobei to magnify Sarutobi Sasuke's injuries, critically wounding him and causing Enkō's Susanoo to dissolve.

Ch. 23Trade

Enkō killed Sarutobi Sasuke, who gave him a jade pendant to help recruit the Uzuki Clan and asked him to spare his son, Sarutobi Hiruzen, once. Enkō then rescued Oya Enichi and the Chinoike Clan from Uzumaki Mito, leaving the Senju camp as the Uchiha Clan refused to join the Senju-led alliance.

  • Sarutobi Sasuke told Enkō that the Uchiha Clan could lose the battle without being defeated for good, and Enkō said even the God of Shinobi would eventually die.
  • Sarutobi Sasuke asked Enkō to spare his son, Sarutobi Hiruzen, once, and gave him a jade pendant as a token for finding the Uzuki Clan.
  • Enkō killed Sarutobi Sasuke, searched his body for the pendant, and headed toward the Senju Clan grounds.
  • Uzumaki Mito trapped Oya Enichi and the Chinoike Clan in the Senju camp after they obtained what they had come for.
  • Enkō broke through the camp walls and helped Oya Enichi lead the Chinoike Clan out of the Senju camp.
  • Enkō told Mito that the Uchiha Clan would not join the Senju alliance, and Mito concluded that the war was not over.

Ch. 24War's End

Tobirama wounded Izuna with the Flying Thunder God, but the battle between Madara and Hashirama decided the war in the Senju’s favor. Madara accepted defeat and declared that the Uchiha Clan would leave the Land of Fire.

  • Tobirama used the Flying Thunder God Slash against Izuna, who had anticipated the technique but suffered a severe wound.
  • Madara and Hashirama’s clash shook the battlefield as Madara neared collapse from his Mangekyō Sharingan’s backlash.
  • Madara saw Izuna injured, stopped fighting, and acknowledged that the Uchiha had lost.
  • Hashirama celebrated the war’s end and proposed building a ninja village with Madara.
  • Madara declared that the Uchiha Clan would leave the Land of Fire.

Ch. 25A New Beginning Elsewhere

Madara led the Uchiha and Chinoike Clans away from the Land of Fire after Hashirama stopped Tobirama from attacking them. At a meeting the next day, Enkō proposed seizing a small country as the foundation for a new power, and the clans prepared to depart in three days.

  • Madara announced that the Uchiha Clan would leave the Land of Fire, and every Uchiha clansman chose to follow him.
  • Tobirama urged Hashirama to wipe out the Uchiha, but Enkō warned that the Senju Clan would face attacks from the Land of Wind and Lightning Country if it fought.
  • Hashirama ordered Tobirama to let Madara's people go, and Madara departed with Izuna, Enkō, and the Uchiha and Chinoike Clans.
  • At a meeting the next day, Enkō told the clan leaders that they would seize a small country, build a new power, and eventually return to the Land of Fire.
  • Enkō pointed out the country he had already sent a team to destabilize, and the clans planned to leave in three days.

Ch. 26Land of Waterfalls

Hashirama and Tobirama began establishing a ninja village in the Land of Fire, while Shemu Xin faced a growing crisis as several clans invaded the Land of Waterfalls. The chapter ended with Shemu Xin ordering his clan to attack the latest arrivals.

  • Tobirama told Hashirama that the Uchiha Clan had left the Land of Fire and that Uchiha Enkō had taken six ninja techniques.
  • Hashirama agreed to make Sarutobi Sasuke’s son, Sarutobi Hiruzen, his disciple and chose Hidden Leaf Village as the village’s name.
  • The Taketori Clan seized much of Shemu Xin’s territory in the Land of Waterfalls, while the Riverflow Clan renewed its resistance.
  • Shemu Xin learned that another unidentified, apparently large clan had entered the Land of Waterfalls.
  • Shemu Xin ordered his clan to attack the newcomers before turning against the Taketori Clan.

Ch. 27Ambush

Madara, Enkō, and Izuna detected two Shemu Clan ambush teams as they marched toward the Shemu Clan’s territory. Madara went to confront the forward team and killed Shemu Chuan, leaving Shemu Xin and the other ambushers stunned.

  • Enkō told Madara and Izuna about the Flying Thunder God Technique, but both refused to learn Tobirama’s jutsu.
  • Madara sensed approaching teams from the front and rear and left to face the forward group, while Izuna went after the rear team.
  • Shemu Xin and Shemu Chuan prepared an ambush, believing the approaching force had not discovered them.
  • Madara reached the road and looked directly toward the concealed ambushers, prompting Shemu Xin to send Shemu Chuan to kill him.
  • Madara cut down Shemu Chuan, whose headless body fell before the stunned ambushers.

Ch. 28Massacre

Madara slaughtered the Shemu Clan’s ambush in the wilderness, killing Shemu Xin despite his power-up from drinking Hero’s Water. After the survivors fled, Enkō received a secret letter and led his clansmen into the Land of Waterfalls.

  • Shemu Xin discovered that Madara had killed his son and ordered nearly a hundred men to attack him.
  • Madara broke Shemu Xin’s wrist, sent him crashing into his men, and cut through the attacking force.
  • Shemu Xin drank the Shemu Clan’s Hero’s Water and charged Madara with enhanced chakra, but Madara killed him with a single slash.
  • Madara unleashed his overwhelming chakra, causing the remaining attackers to flee.
  • Enkō caught a messenger hawk, read its secret letter, and announced that the clansmen would move into the Land of Waterfalls.

Ch. 29Flame Hidden Village

Enkō and Uchiha Mu infiltrated the Daimyo Palace to take control of the Land of Waterfalls and establish a ninja village. Enkō placed the daimyo under genjutsu, appointed Mu to govern in his place, and named the new village Flame Hidden Village.

  • The Daimyo rejected the Uchiha Clan’s request for village funding and demanded that their village obey his orders and bear the name Takigakure.
  • Enkō and Uchiha Mu watched the Daimyo’s private gathering from the second floor of the pavilion.
  • Mu subdued the Daimyo, and Enkō put him under genjutsu.
  • Enkō appointed Mu as the Daimyo and instructed him to use seventy percent of the treasury to build a village.
  • Enkō told Mu that the village would be called Flame Hidden Village.

Ch. 30Future Plans

Konoha and Flame Hidden Village discussed their plans after the Uchiha Clan founded a village in the Land of Flame. Hashirama planned to distribute the Tailed Beasts among the nations, while Madara’s village prepared to expand and sent Izuna on a mission to the Lightning Country.

  • Tobirama warned Hashirama that the Uchiha Clan’s new village could threaten the Land of Fire, and Nara Shikaku and Toka Senju suspected the Uchiha had used genjutsu on the daimyo.
  • Hashirama proposed finding and distributing the Tailed Beasts to balance the nations’ military strength, and Tobirama insisted the Uchiha must not obtain them.
  • Enkō proposed creating a Ninja Academy and a Genin, Chunin, and Jonin ranking system for Flame Hidden Village.
  • Enkō proposed recruiting more clans and asked Chikuma to help subdue them, while assuring Madara he would not need to use his Mangekyo Sharingan.
  • Enkō assigned Izuna a mission to travel to the Lightning Country and catch a little pet.

Ch. 31Hidden Crafts Village

Uchiha Enkō led the Taketori Clan to Hidden Crafts Village to discuss its future and recruit its skilled ninja-tool makers. Village Chief Qingming revealed that Kirigakure had already proposed that the village join it, leaving Enkō to learn that another major village had the same goal.

  • Enkō planned to recruit the Uzuki Clan and visit the Land of Crafts, while Chikuma and the Taketori Clan grew restless for a fight.
  • A hooded figure with dark green eyes appeared at the cave after Enkō's group left and vanished after watching the direction they had gone.
  • Enkō and the Taketori Clan arrived at Hidden Crafts Village, where guards warned that something had happened and the village might not be able to forge tools.
  • Village Chief Qingming welcomed Enkō and learned he was the Uchiha Clan's Third Leader.
  • Enkō asked about Qingming's plans for the village, and Qingming said Kirigakure had already asked Hidden Crafts Village to join it.

Ch. 32Assassination

The Hidden Crafts Village debated whether to side with Kirigakure or the Flame Hidden Village, while Qingming decided to let them clash and then exploit the weakened victor. Enkō foiled an assassin’s attempt on his life, but was shocked when the attacker’s identity was revealed.

  • Qingming and the Hidden Crafts Village’s leaders discussed the rival bids for their allegiance, and Qingming proposed waiting for the two sides to fight before confronting the winner.
  • Enkō considered how to secure the Hidden Crafts Village and guard against its leaders taking advantage of the conflict.
  • A black-cloaked assassin entered Enkō’s room and attacked him, but Enkō escaped with a substitution and counterattacked.
  • The assassin fled through the window, and Enkō pursued him with a flaming sword slash that burned away his cloak.
  • Enkō recognized the attacker’s ordinary face and exclaimed in surprise.

Ch. 33Kakuzu

Enkō confronted Kakuzu, who had tried to assassinate him over the disappearance of his wife and daughter. After defeating Kakuzu, Enkō spared him and offered him a chance to buy his life back.

  • Enkō stopped Chikuma and the Taketori clansmen from joining the fight and asked Kakuzu why he had attacked him.
  • Kakuzu blamed the Uchiha Clan for his family’s disappearance, and Enkō suggested his wife might have been working in Flame Hidden Village.
  • Enkō challenged Kakuzu to defeat him to earn his freedom, and they fought in the rain.
  • Enkō’s Shadow Clone wounded Kakuzu, and Enkō stopped a Rasengan at the last moment before knocking him unconscious with a punch.
  • Kakuzu asked why Enkō had spared him, and Enkō demanded one hundred billion Explosive Tags to buy his life back.

Ch. 34Blood Slaughter

Enkō recruited Kakuzu into the Flame Hidden Village and went to negotiate with Kirigakure over the Hidden Crafts Village. Shuiwu challenged Enkō for his blood, and their battle ended with Enkō activating Kagami no Mitama as Shuiwu found himself unable to move.

  • Enkō told Kakuzu he would have to repay his debt by working for the Flame Hidden Village, and promised to arrange for Kakuzu's family to join him.
  • Enkō met Shuiwu, Kirigakure's envoy, in the council hall, where Shuiwu revealed his Blood Release and demanded Enkō's blood as the stakes for their fight.
  • Shuiwu attacked Enkō at close range, and they exchanged powerful strikes that sent them crashing out of the council hall into the rain.
  • Shuiwu used his speed and blood weapons to cut Enkō, then dodged his flames by taking to the sky with Blood Wings.
  • Enkō summoned a black Susanoo spear and blasted Shuiwu through buildings, then activated Kagami no Mitama as blood streamed from his left eye.

Ch. 35Escape

Enkō seized Shuiwu’s Blood Release with Kagami no Mitama and defeated him in a brutal battle, hoping the Kekkei Genkai could help him preserve his Mangekyō Sharingan. Shuiwu escaped by exploding into blood mist, leaving Enkō exhausted as Qingming and other ninjas arrived.

  • Enkō used his dojutsu to nullify Shuiwu’s Kekkei Genkai and then seized Blood Release, despite the severe pain and strain it caused him.
  • Enkō attacked Shuiwu with blood needles and a blood sword, while Shuiwu countered with water techniques and a close-range strike.
  • Enkō used Blood Burial to devastate the area and leave Shuiwu badly wounded, then realized his ability would last only five minutes.
  • Shuiwu told Enkō that the dojutsu’s effect lasted five minutes and escaped by exploding into blood mist when Enkō tried to grab him.
  • Qingming arrived with other ninjas and told the exhausted Enkō it was time for them to talk.

Ch. 36When the Dust Settled

Enkō confronted Qingming and the Hidden Crafts Village shinobi, arguing that joining Flame Hidden Village offered their best chance of survival. After Qingming attacked and lost to Chikuma, Enkō killed him and welcomed the villagers into Flame Hidden Village, then wondered how his second brother was faring in Lightning Country.

  • Enkō told Qingming that Hidden Crafts Village was too weak to remain independent and urged its people to choose whether to join Flame Hidden Village.
  • More than a dozen Flame Hidden Village shinobi arrived, and villagers began declaring their support for Enkō despite Qingming's protests.
  • Qingming attacked Enkō, but Chikuma fought him and overwhelmed him with his Shikotsumyaku.
  • Qingming tried to flee, but Enkō killed him with a shuriken to the throat.
  • The Hidden Crafts Village people welcomed Enkō, who then wondered how things were going with his second brother in Lightning Country.

Ch. 37Hunting the Nine-Tails

Izuna tracked down the Nine-Tails in Liaoye Forest and used his Mangekyō Sharingan to subdue and seal it. With the Nine-Tails secured for Flame Hidden Village, he wondered how Third Brother was doing.

  • Izuna interrogated a Kumogakure patrol captain with genjutsu and learned that the Nine-Tails had been driven west into Liaoye Forest.
  • Izuna used a Uchiha Clan compass to locate the resting Nine-Tails in the forest.
  • The Nine-Tails attacked Izuna, but he avoided its strike and revealed his Mangekyō Sharingan.
  • Izuna trapped the Nine-Tails in genjutsu and sealed it into a scroll with the Summoning Seal.
  • Izuna put away the scroll and worried about how Third Brother was doing.

Ch. 38Treating an Illness

Enkō arranged for the Hidden Crafts Village residents to be escorted to Flame Hidden Village, then traveled to Medicine Hidden Village hoping to recruit its healers and find a way to treat his failing eyesight. The village chief recognized that Enkō was nearly blind, and Enkō asked whether he could cure him.

  • Enkō considered Shuiwu's Blood Release as a possible way to prevent his Mangekyo Sharingan from going blind.
  • Enkō told Shentai that the Hidden Crafts Village could depart and instructed Chikuma to escort half the Taketori Clan back with them.
  • Enkō and his group traveled to Medicine Hidden Village, where a farmer told him that the village's numbers had dwindled about a month earlier.
  • Enkō joined the long line of patients and waited until he could speak with the village chief.
  • The white-haired village chief identified Enkō's near-blindness, and Enkō asked whether he could treat it.

Ch. 39Saving People

Uchiha Enkō visited Tian Lao for treatment of the damage to his eyes and received medicinal wine that could prevent backlash for an hour. When Fukuizumi Takuya reported that Tian Yuan and others were trapped in a valley, Enkō chose to join the rescue, leaving Tian Lao worried.

  • Tian Lao examined Enkō’s eyes and explained that their damaged foundation could not be repaired, though medicinal wine could prevent further backlash temporarily.
  • Tian Lao gave Enkō the remaining medicinal wine for five taels and declined Enkō’s unspoken attempt to recruit him.
  • A child told Tian Lao that Tian Yuan and others were trapped in a valley and needed rescuing.
  • Tian Lao warned the villagers that going to the valley would be dangerous, but Fukuizumi Takuya insisted on returning to save Tian Yuan and the others.
  • Enkō offered to accompany Takuya, took Chikuma with him, and left for the valley as Tian Lao watched anxiously.

Ch. 40Absolute Poison Valley

Enkō investigated Absolute Poison Valley after Takuya explained that a mysterious force had driven Tian Yuan’s group into a frenzy. Inside the gorge, Enkō found the group unconscious and discovered the grayish-white Chakra was likely Sage Chakra, leaving him to face the danger alone.

  • Takuya explained that Tian Yuan and the other villagers had gone to harvest a life-extending fruit but were driven violent by the valley’s mysterious force.
  • At the gorge entrance, Enkō saw grayish-white Chakra filling the air and ordered everyone else to wait outside while he investigated alone.
  • Enkō entered the gorge, felt the foreign Chakra merge with his own, and found the missing villagers unconscious.
  • The foreign Chakra surged, sending Enkō into a frenzy and triggering his Mangekyo Sharingan as Susanoo began to emerge.
  • Enkō drank Tian Lao’s medicinal wine, calmed the rampaging Chakra, and realized the gray Chakra was likely Sage Chakra.
