The system prompt had barely faded.
An ordinary-looking ring appeared in his hand.
The ring was nothing more than a simple band, and its material was impossible to identify.
He slipped the ring onto his finger, then sent his telekinesis into it.
The moment his telekinesis touched the ring, he instantly sensed a cubic space measuring ten meters in length, width, and height. Moreover, the shape of this space could be changed at will according to his wishes.
"Not bad!"
Xu Mo nodded in satisfaction.
With a light wave toward the armor beside him, it vanished into the Storage Ring.
By the time Xu Mo returned home, it was already close to noon.
The moment he entered the villa, a servant came up to report that someone claiming to be an FBI agent had come to visit.
"FBI?"
A trace of confusion appeared on Xu Mo's face.
His only previous connection with the FBI had been their warnings at the beginning of every movie he watched.
As for meeting a real one, this was truly his first time.
A few minutes later, in the reception room.
A tall woman sat across from Xu Mo.
She wore a black skintight outfit that outlined her graceful figure. Her hair was neatly tied behind her head, and her sapphire-blue eyes regarded Xu Mo with a hint of curiosity.
"Hello, my name is Maria Hill. I'm from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division!"
Before coming here, she had assumed this Xu would be a huge, muscular brute with arms as thick as thighs.
After all, she knew Kingpin's file extremely well.
Anyone capable of killing Kingpin, whose entire body was packed with muscle, should at least have had a build no less imposing than his.
But she had never expected him to be a man with a well-proportioned physique and fair skin.
After they shook hands, a look of realization appeared in Xu Mo's eyes.
No wonder she had looked somewhat familiar at first. Only after hearing her name did he realize that she was Agent Hill, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s commander second only to its bald, dark-skinned director.
In an instant, he pieced everything together.
Clearly, S.H.I.E.L.D. had learned from Natasha, the Black Widow, that he had killed Kingpin.
He could also guess their purpose.
They wanted nothing more than to persuade him to join S.H.I.E.L.D.
Sure enough, her very first sentence confirmed his guess.
"Mr. Xu, I'm here on behalf of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division to invite you to join us!"
Hill handed the documents in her hands to Xu Mo with a serious expression.
Xu Mo took the documents from her, casually flipped through them a few times, then tossed them onto the table before him.
Then he chuckled and looked at Hill across from him.
"Give up the life of a wealthy man and risk my life fighting criminals?"
"Ms. Hill, I don't think that's a good idea!"
Hill showed no surprise at Xu Mo's refusal. If she put herself in his shoes, she would not have joined the organization either.
Smiling, she took a tablet from her bag and opened a video on it.
Then she handed it to Xu Mo.
"I think you'll change your mind after watching this!"
Xu Mo's expression shifted. He reached out, took the tablet from her, and watched it carefully.
The scene in the video took place in a Main Hall.
It was filled with Mutants of all different appearances. Judging from the situation, they seemed to be discussing something.
Based on the angle of the footage, it had likely been secretly recorded by one of the Mutants.
An elderly man wearing a metal helmet sat at the front of the Main Hall.
"Magneto, the Brotherhood!"
Xu Mo almost instantly guessed that this was an internal scene from the Brotherhood.
What they were discussing was how to make him a member of the Mutant Brotherhood.
Of course, their primary target was Xu Mo's vast wealth.
After watching the video, Xu Mo's expression darkened.
He was not particularly surprised that the organization behind Kingpin and Juggernaut was the Mutant Brotherhood.
He had already suspected as much.
What puzzled him, however, was why they were so desperate to obtain a large sum of money.
Could they be planning some major move again?
He had originally been too lazy to concern himself with them. If they caused trouble, the X-Men would naturally stop them. But since they had set their sights on him, they could not blame him for being merciless!
Fortunately, he had received the news in advance.
Otherwise, he might have been dragged into their scheme without even realizing it.
"So, what do you think? If you join us, we can help you deal with these people!"
Agent Hill continued trying to persuade him.
"I'm afraid it's more like helping yourselves!"
If these Mutants caused trouble, S.H.I.E.L.D. could not possibly stand by and do nothing. After all, the organization had been founded to deal with these anti-human groups. Saying they were helping him sounded nice.
In truth, they merely wanted to use him to deal with these Mutants.
Hill showed no surprise at Xu Mo seeing through their intentions. Instead, she looked at him with complete seriousness.
"There's no difference. After all, they really are threatening your safety, aren't they?"
Xu Mo considered it for a moment, then looked up at Hill.
"That's true. You're right!"
"But unfortunately, I don't intend to join any organization. Still, we can cooperate!"
"Oh?"
"What kind of cooperation?"
Hill froze for a moment before asking.
"This time, I can join forces with you to deal with these Mutants. In return for the intelligence you provided this time, I can make one move to help you handle some troublesome problem!"
"Of course, if our cooperation goes well, we can make deals like this in the future!"
"Each time you provide intelligence I need, I can make one move for you!"
After this incident, Xu Mo had also realized the importance of intelligence.
If Hill had not come to his door, he might truly have suffered a hidden loss.
Although S.H.I.E.L.D. had almost become Snake Shield, it was undeniable that aside from intelligence concerning Hydra, which might be false, its intelligence network regarding the other factions was still extremely powerful.
Besides, he would not lose anything by doing this.
The people S.H.I.E.L.D. needed to deal with were most likely not good people either.
He needed to deal with such people anyway to obtain points.
This way, not only could he handle these people with help, but he would not need to worry at all about cleaning up afterward.
It was killing two birds with one stone.
Upon hearing this, Hill shook her head.
"For this matter, I'll need to seek our superior's opinion!"
"Of course!"
Xu Mo nodded.
He let Hill take her phone and leave the room.
Less than ten minutes later.
Hill returned.
"Pleasure doing business with you!"
"From now on, I'll be your sole contact. Aside from me and the director, no one in S.H.I.E.L.D. will know any information about you!"
"Oh, and someone will send over information on the Mutant Brotherhood later!"
After seeing Hill off, Xu Mo remained seated and fell into thought.
He had now been targeted by the Brotherhood.
Since they wanted to make a move against him, he would not sit around and wait for death.
Although, based solely on the power Old Wan displayed at his peak in the movie universe, he could move nuclear submarines weighing several thousand tons.
But if they truly fought, it was hard to say who would win. After all, Xu Mo's telekinesis could manipulate almost any object, and his body was far stronger than Old Wan's.
Besides, he had a trump card capable of dealing with them.
Thinking of this, Xu Mo went to the study on the top floor of the villa.
He walked to the bookshelf and pressed a button hidden behind a book. The bookshelf slowly slid aside, revealing a room of roughly thirty square meters behind it.
He stepped into the room.
The walls inside were covered with all kinds of firearms.
Desert Eagles, M500 Revolvers, AKs, Remington Shotguns, Barrett Heavy Snipers...!
All of them were Xu Mo's collection from over the years.
With a light wave of his right hand, he stored all the firearms in the Storage Ring.
After putting them away, Xu Mo walked over to a waist-high cryogenic freezer at the very back.
He opened it. Apart from several specially made firearms, the remaining space was neatly filled with square magazines.
He casually took one out and opened it.
Inside, arranged in perfect order, were not bullets, but tiny syringes.
