History

Yonglu Mountain has stood for several thousand years and was founded around a high-grade spiritual artifact capable of evaluating sect tasks and assigning contribution-point rewards 23 27.

A former sect master instituted the current three-day adjustment period before master selection after accepting disciples based solely on aptitude. One such disciple reached the Nascent Soul Realm but remained too timid to leave the sect, convincing the sect that temperament must be assessed alongside talent 25.

Location and Layout

Yonglu Mountain occupies the point where a spiritual vein in the Yonglu Mountain Range gathers most densely. Its grand formation also covers Spiritual Eyes, allowing cultivation within the sect to proceed at least twenty percent faster than outside 26.

The sect permits Qi Refining–level talismans, pills, and magical artifacts in the Mountain Examination, but forbids high-grade artifacts and killing. Shadow Walls monitor the examination and enforce its rules 15.

Yonglu Mountain treats unexpected circumstances as part of the test rather than automatically invalidating them. When an unofficial artifact entered the Mountain Examination by mistake, its elders allowed the trial to continue because adaptability was a core quality they sought 20.

Recruitment Philosophy

Yonglu Mountain is known for accepting cultivators whom stricter sects might reject. Unlike the first-ranked Harmony Sect, it may accept even four- or five-spiritual-root cultivators if they show exceptional talent 9.

Candidates who complete all three entrance trials are accepted regardless of their spiritual-root results; exceptional roots may qualify a disciple for the inner sect immediately 23.

The sect also recognizes fortune and initiative. Elder Zhao Qi ruled that Wen Xu’s unregistered entry into the Cloud-Breaking Secret Realm did not violate any declared rule, stating that Yonglu Mountain would not reject someone who obtained an opportunity through their own fortune 14.
