Black Zetsu sensed Otsutsuki Kaguya's presence despite the impassable barrier between them. It came from the same source as him, so he could feel it clearly.

If not for that barrier, Black Zetsu would already have rushed out and knelt at Otsutsuki Kaguya's feet to tell her of the bitterness and hardship he had endured for a thousand years.
