Ye Chenxing silently rolled his eyes.

"Is that how you speak to a business partner?" Ye Chenxing spread his hands. "And here I was, specially preparing a huge surprise for you and the Star Dou Great Forest."

Di Tian raised an eyebrow slightly, giving him an inquisitive look.

However, Ye Chenxing merely smiled mysteriously. "I'll keep you guessing for now."

Di Tian snorted. "You humans always like being so secretive. The Auspicious Beast is simply too naive, which is why it was fooled by your smooth talk."

Just as Ye Chenxing was about to defend himself, a rough voice suddenly rang out from the forest nearby.

"Hey, what did I say? Stealing treasure from Shrek Academy was never going to be that easy!"

Accompanied by heavy footsteps, an enormous giant bear covered in a dark golden sheen pushed aside the towering trees and swaggered out.

It was Xiong Jun, the Dark Gold Dreadclaw Bear ranked sixth among the Ten Great Ferocious Beasts.

Xiong Jun glanced at Ye Chenxing with his tiny eyes, then looked at Di Tian and grinned in a muffled voice. "Di Tian, you went to rescue this kid, didn't you? I, Old Bear, saw through it long ago. A human without even a single soul ring dared to boast about stealing Shrek's treasure? He didn't even bother to draft a script for that lie."

With that, Xiong Jun smugly scratched his chin and raised his thick chin at Ye Chenxing. "Well, kid? Came back empty-handed, didn't you?"

Seeing Xiong Jun's foolish yet self-righteous expression, Ye Chenxing did not get angry. He merely curled his lips into a teasing smile and asked, "Xiong Jun, do you remember what you said before I left?"

"What did I say?" Xiong Jun froze slightly, then began to feel a bad premonition.

"I remember you said that if I really stole the treasure from Shrek Academy, you wouldn't eat honey for the next ten years."

Hearing this, Ye Chenxing looked at Di Tian standing nearby with satisfaction.

He was Myriad Demon King, the Star Dou Great Forest's most powerful plant-type ferocious beast.

"If I'm not mistaken, the treasure he had his eye on was probably Shrek Academy's Golden Tree... and he has already obtained it!"

"What?!"

Hearing that, Xiong Jun's massive body jolted, and cold sweat instantly ran down his dark golden fur.

If Di Tian alone had vouched for it, he might still have doubted it. But the possibility of two ferocious beasts joining forces to fool him...

Xiong Jun's bear face immediately shifted between green and red. After holding it in for a long while, he suddenly gritted his teeth and roared with his neck stretched out, "Old Bear keeps his word! If I said I won't eat it, then I won't eat it!"

Yet his tone carried such grievance that it would sadden anyone who heard it.

"Hahaha—"

Seeing Xiong Jun's constipated expression, Ye Chenxing could not help laughing. He waved his hand. "All right, I won't hold it against you. How about you trade something else instead? Forget this punishment that would cut off your food supply."

Xiong Jun's eyes lit up at once. Like a drowning man clutching at a straw, he nodded repeatedly. "What do you want? As long as it's not honey, Old Bear has plenty of good stuff!"

Ye Chenxing took two steps forward and whispered a few words into Xiong Jun's enormous ear.

After hearing Ye Chenxing's request, Xiong Jun was stunned for a moment before patting his chest in relief. "No problem. That thing is useless sitting with me anyway. Leave it to Old Bear!" With that, he turned and disappeared into the dense forest.
