Escape

He knew he had been completely crushed. The other side had toyed with him as easily as a cat playing with a mouse.

Damn it, since when were bandits this strong? They weren't bandits at all, were they?

Blade grumbled for a while, then carefully observed his surroundings.

Witch was beside him, tightly bound with rope as well. He and Witch had likely been captured and brought back by those two bandits.

Then Blade spotted a girl tied up on the ground not far away.

The girl was awake, her big eyes fixed on him. When their gazes met, she excitedly made muffled sounds as though she wanted to speak. However, Blade noticed that a strip of cloth had been stuffed into her mouth, leaving her unable to say anything.

Blade's mouth had not been gagged. He hurriedly whispered for the girl not to make any noise, lest she draw the bandits over.

The girl obediently stopped struggling, but her large eyes continued to stare at him as though they could speak.

Blade had seen a portrait of the hostage, and it was identical to the girl before him. She had to be Lisa, the target he had come to rescue.

Being stared at like that by the girl he was supposed to save, Blade suddenly felt rather ashamed.

He had failed to rescue her and gotten captured instead. This was beyond embarrassing.

Blade quickly cast aside his random thoughts. What mattered now was getting out of here as soon as possible. If the bandits returned, they would be finished.
