Gu Hengzhi awakened the God-Sealing Record, summoned the Earth Deity, and built a Spirit Field while pursuing his own cultivation at Nuoding Academy. After failing to alert Spirit Hall about Tang San, he entered the Soul Hunting Forest with Su Yuntao and joined the Earth Deity in confronting a mutated Earth Azure Bull.

• Su Yuntao found the injured Gu Hengzhi in a devastated village, and years later Gu Hengzhi awakened a damaged Stone Statue martial soul with level-five Innate Soul Power.
• The God-Sealing Record awakened, and Gu Hengzhi carved and invoked an Earth Deity statue whose power became the first entry in the Record.
• Gu Hengzhi joined Nuoding Academy, rejected Yu Xiaogang’s offer to make him a research subject, and defeated Wang Sheng in Seven House.
• Gu Hengzhi gathered incense from his dormmates, established a Spirit Field with the Earth Deity’s guidance, and cultivated herbs and fish there.
• After learning Tang San had awakened Blue Silver Grass with full Innate Soul Power, Gu Hengzhi secretly sent letters to Spirit Hall, but Tang Hao intercepted them.
• Tang San and Xiao Wu arrived at Nuoding Academy, and Gu Hengzhi watched Yu Xiaogang accept Tang San as his disciple.
• Su Yuntao took Gu Hengzhi to the Soul Hunting Forest, where they encountered a Gale Demon Wolf and Su Yuntao stayed behind to fight it.

Gu Hengzhi gained new divine powers, built his influence, and clashed with Tang San and the Shrek Academy group. The arc leaves him and Righteous Heaven Academy searching the Star Dou Great Forest for Soul Rings, with Kong Ling preparing to capture a Mirror Shadow Beast.

• Gu Hengzhi killed the Mutated Azure Bull, absorbed its Century Soul Ring, and gained the Earth Deity’s help in transforming it into a spirit pet mount.
• Trapped in the Soul Hunting Forest, Gu Hengzhi encountered Tang San and Yu Xiaogang, killed the Mandala Snake they wanted, and later accused Tang San of stealing herbs from his garden.
• Gu Hengzhi defeated Tang San in a soul duel after countering his Blue Silver Grass and hidden weapons, then summoned the Kitchen God as his second deity.
• Gu Hengzhi expanded the Peace Hotel and met Zhu Zhuqing in Soto City, where he helped her confront Dai Mubai and then invited her to join Righteous Heaven Academy.
• At the Peace Hotel, Tie Hong fought Zhao Wuji and lost control of his mutated Blood Wolf, and Gu Hengzhi’s deities suppressed Tie Hong’s killing intent while Kong Ling explained the danger could not be cured permanently.
• Gu Hengzhi and Righteous Heaven Academy traveled into the Star Dou Great Forest to find Soul Rings, where he spotted a Mirror Shadow Beast pursuing a Scarlet Fire Fox.
• Gu Hengzhi identified the 5,600-year-old Mirror Shadow Beast as a suitable Soul Ring target for Xuan Yue and Ming Ling, and Kong Ling summoned her Seven-Colored Peacock martial soul to capture it.
