'For a blue and pure world!'
'Kill these dirty traitors!'
'Coordinators must die!'
'Child! Hurry and go!'
'Bang bang bang~'
'Kill them!'
'It's this child! He's a remnant of the Coordinators!'
'Mom!'
'Noer!'
"Get lost!"
"Ah~!"
Suddenly, in the research room of the April Colony, Noer Cassia, who was in a deep sleep, woke up with a roar from his bed.
Looking at the white room and the intense pain from his body, Noer gasped and closed his eyes.
For some reason, lately, he had been having unpleasant memories and images appearing in his mind.
"Beep beep~"
"Shua~"
Outside the door, three men in researcher uniforms walked in.
"Having another nightmare?" the lead researcher asked Noer, looking at the sweat on his forehead.
"When can I be discharged?" Noer didn't answer, just tilted his head to look at the sunlight outside the window.
Today was the third day since he woke up.
For the past three days, he had been dreaming, or rather, recalling the memories of the original Noer.
It was like this every day, which was incredibly tiresome.
"You'll be able to leave soon."
The researcher didn't answer, silently taking out a syringe filled with medicine and injecting it into Noer's arm. "Oh, right, we received your letter and video yesterday."
"Letter and video?" Noer was stunned. Who would be bored enough to write me a letter?
"From... from Junius 7!" The researcher hesitated, as if remembering something.
"Junius 7?" Noer looked bewildered.
What is Junius 7? Why don't I know if I have any friends there?
"Do you want me to bring it to you?"
The researcher was confused by Noer's attitude. If I remember correctly, you came from Junius 7, right?
What's with that bewildered look? You don't even know the name of your hometown?
"Then I'll trouble you." Noer was extremely bored right now. Ever since he regained consciousness, he had been stuck in this damn research facility every day.
He was so bored he could sprout wings. The most annoying thing was the lack of any entertainment facilities, not even a TV, which was outrageous!
"You're welcome."
The researcher shook his head, put away the syringe, and said, "Rest well."
"Oh, right, what's today's date?" Suddenly, Noer remembered something very important: the nuclear bomb!
For the past few days, his mind had been foggy due to the nightmares and confused memories. Now, he suddenly remembered the nuclear bomb.
He didn't know how many days he had been unconscious.
"February 17th," the researcher said, taking a deep breath.
"February 17th?" Noer was stunned. If he remembered correctly, Valentine's Day was on the 14th. Today is the 17th, so does that mean I slept through a catastrophe like this?
"Yes!"
The researcher nodded. "Is there anything else?"
"Uh... no."
Noer was still in the process of digesting this unexpected good news. If it weren't for the fact that the nuclear bomb explosion was such a sensitive matter, Noer would have jumped up to celebrate.
As expected, the Son of Destiny is just that awesome!
So what if there was a nuclear bomb? I just slept through it!
"You..." The researcher looked at Noer, wanting to say something but stopping.
"What's wrong?" Noer looked up at the researcher.
"Do you want me to give you that letter in a few days?" The researcher looked at the oblivious Noer, feeling a pang of sadness.
"Why?" Noer was stunned. You were the one who just said you'd give it to me.
"Nothing, I'll have someone send it to you later." The researcher pondered for a moment before shaking his head and leaving the laboratory.
He'd have to know sooner or later.
Noer found it strange as he watched the door slowly close. What was that guy up to?
However, Noer quickly dismissed the thought.
He began to consider his next path.
The nuclear bombs should have detonated by now, so the first calamity had been overcome.
Now, he needed to figure out how to survive the subsequent difficulties.
After organizing his thoughts for so long since transmigrating, Noer had come up with a few ways to stay alive.
The first method: Do nothing, hide in the main PLANT satellite, and be an insignificant nobody.
Because PLANT wasn't completely destroyed by the end, and even though it suffered nuclear attacks later, its government was never overthrown.
This meant that as long as he followed the PLANT leadership, he'd basically be safe and wouldn't die, at least not from nuclear bombs.
But the subsequent war was so fierce, it was hard to guarantee PLANT wouldn't resort to mandatory conscription. After all, while Coordinators were individually stronger than Naturals, they couldn't match the sheer numbers of the enemy.
It was like a certain day on another Earth, where they were so desperate by the end that their entire home was filled with women.
Although PLANT always claimed voluntary enlistment, that was before the war. Who knew what things would be like after it started?
The second method: Join the protagonist group. But this idea... was very dangerous!
Don't be fooled by the fact that protagonists don't die; that's because they are the protagonists, possess formidable strength, and face the enemy's top brass.
Protagonists are iron, cannon fodder comes and goes.
Noer strongly suspected that the cannon fodder accompanying the protagonist group had been replaced a dozen times by the end of the war.
The Kira of this time wasn't the Kira who crippled limbs; he aimed for the cockpit and was already quite skilled. If he accidentally took a shot...
"Now, what should I choose?"
Noer hesitated.
Neither option was good; both were fraught with danger.
The first was too passive; he could only pray that the enemy wouldn't misfire their nuclear bombs.
The second... was very dangerous.
Strictly speaking, the safest option was the protagonist group. After all, they were the protagonists destined to save the world; they wouldn't die, unless the world itself was broken.
But only the protagonists had this buff. If he went...
"Sigh, in the end, it all comes down to insufficient strength."
Noer reluctantly accepted reality. No matter how he looked at it, it was due to his lack of strength.
If his strength could reach the first tier, no, even the second tier, he wouldn't have to worry too much about dying in battle.
But he wasn't a legitimate Coordinator and couldn't pilot a Gundam proficiently.
Furthermore, Gundams themselves varied in quality. The first-tier Gundams completely outclassed the second-tier ones.
Even the MS that Naturals could pilot later on were no match for the first-tier Coordinators.
So... what could he do?
As Noer lost himself in thought, another two days passed.
During this time, a very important event occurred externally.
Due to the fall of Junius 7 and the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Coordinators, the current PLANT Chairman, Siegel Clyne, delivered a speech.
At the state funeral mourning the victims of "Bloody Valentine," the current PLANT Chairman, Siegel Clyne, issued the "Declaration of Independence" and declared "Total War Against the Earth Alliance."
Simultaneously, he offered priority material support to nations not participating in the Alliance ("Chairman Klein's Proactive Neutrality Recommendation"), as PLANT still had considerable resources.
Among these, the Oceania Union and the United States of South America, non-PLANT council nations, accepted this recommendation.
At this point, even a fool could tell that PLANT and the Earth Alliance Military had officially gone to war.
