Chaotic Battlefield

Crisscrossing streams of fire nearly covered the entire sky.

The fleet at sea launched a volley of missiles, hurtling straight toward Yuno Goro, where the Ministry of Defense headquarters was located.

As Cagalli and the others flew closer, they found the battle in utter chaos. MS units were locked in fierce combat high in the air, while MS squadrons exchanged fire with ZAFT fighters along the coastline and those that had already landed.

The ground forces were simultaneously under bombardment from ZAFT aerial fighters, but the Murasame squadron that should have descended to support them was nearly overwhelmed itself. They could only watch helplessly as their allies fell one after another.

Worse still, the escort fleet formation offshore was in complete disarray and steadily retreating. It was clear that the Orb forces, slow to respond, were being suppressed.

"Damn it! What the hell are they doing?! The whole front line is a mess!"

Seeing this, Murasame pilot Iketani cursed angrily.

Kisaka flew to Cagalli's side and said, "We need to reorganize the defensive line immediately, or the entire defense will collapse."

Cagalli could see that the battle was going badly as well, but she forced herself to remain calm.

I can't panic here.

"I'll take control of the Ministry of Defense headquarters and reorganize the front line! Kira, Mr. Mu, Miss Marlu, Miss Natall, I'm counting on you from here on!"

Cagalli spoke to Kira and the others, who had caught up from behind, while forcing herself to stay composed.

"Mm, go ahead."

Kira nodded with a smile on his face.

"Don't worry. I may not be as strong as Kira and the others, but I'm no slouch either."

Mu also smiled as he reassured Cagalli.
