Profound Peak Lineage

Qin Huaiming inherited the Profound Peak Lineage, whose tradition descends from Sea-Calming Daoist, one of Wanxuan's founding great cultivators. He identifies Profound Peak Daoist as his own master and teaches that the lineage prioritizes stable foundations, five-element harmony, and insight into heavenly secrets. 151

Earlier, he managed the Municipal Bureau's Office of Resource Allocation and Merit Assessment, which Yang identified as a suitable destination for his loyal subordinate Liu Min. Qin's patronage also extended beyond his own lineage: Deputy Director Liu of the Provincial Government's Government Affairs Council had received substantial support from him during his rise from a poor background. 193 229

Before returning to Zhongjing, Qin arranged for Zhao Haichuan to take over his political resources in the Eastern Sea as director of the Provincial Police Department's Action Office. During the competition, Qin served as an overseer, announced results, and intervened when attacks exceeded the limits of safe sparring. He protected Sun Chen from Wu Qing's dangerous formation, extinguished Lin Xiyun's Goldfire Heaven-Burning attack, and stopped Yang's final sword strike before it could kill Sun Chen. Qin entrusted Yang with preparations for a secret Jade Whale Sect envoy's journey to Zhongjing. Under a Soundproof Formation, he ordered Yang to establish at least three safe houses in the Port District and three secure routes to East Tide Province, using only trustworthy personnel and reporting to Senior Brother Shen. Before Yang's later mission in the Forest of Ten Thousand Woods, Qin explained that finding means to extend Qian Xin's life was essential to preserving the lineage's influence.
