Edna smiled softly.
Black Eye truly had ruthless methods. She had actually turned this famous library, originally made up of Oghma's followers, into a place split evenly between followers of the Magic Weave and scholars of knowledge.
Although the Magic Weave's followers could only live in the Great Library and the underground fortress... Candlekeep's true magical defense center was that underground fortress.
And the famous Mirror Library... had originally been in a private dimension belonging to some Knowledge God. Now, it too was connected to the great study in Joseph's Garden.
The only price Black Eye had paid for these benefits was allowing the Knowledge God's high priests access to Azuth's Encyclopedia of Spells.
Azuth did not care if his achievements were shared. He enjoyed sharing the latest spells with people who knew how to appreciate them... Azuth had not become the Mage God by relying on Black Eye. He was powerful enough on his own, and he truly loved teaching others.
