Lucimar lowered his head and sighed deeply.
He understood what Xue Yunfeng meant.
The Lord of Death, firmly under the World Lord's control, would reveal the whole truth to those young women's souls the instant they died.
Once they learned that everything they had suffered was part of a plot, no one else could decide whether they would lose heart, abandon their beliefs, and enter the River Styx—or simply carry on following that Evil God.
Xue Yunfeng glanced at the quick-witted Archmage, took out his tablet, and typed a few lines before looking up. "Mr. Lucimar, I think we Undead would rather work with you than with your father.
"What do you say?
"Interested in moving?"
"Linde wouldn't want me in Kane Valley." Lucimar gave a rueful laugh.
"Not to Kane Valley, of course." Xue Yunfeng raised an eyebrow. "Linde and a certain gentleman among us Undead are tied together for good, and Umberlee will remain here too.
"We once considered having Linde gradually build an army he could command, but he doesn't seem keen on it.
"For certain reasons, Linde badly wants to go further as a Mage. Given his personality, that's why he's leaving everything in other people's hands.
"So we simply tied Kane Valley to Umberlee.
"You follow?
"As Umberlee's birthplace in this world, Kane Valley isn't somewhere anyone can attack lightly. Whoever tries will learn what it means to sink to the bottom of the sea. They'll rot down to bone fragments and still never float up."
Lucimar nodded. "Ah, family... A word that inspires love, hate, and resentment all at once."
Talking to someone clever was easy.
Xue Yunfeng found himself growing more enthusiastic. "But that creates a problem. Not all our guilds want to stay here and play a game of confrontation with Umberlee
