It took Lu Huayu a few bewildered seconds to catch on. "Oaisis is that much trouble?
Umberlee..."
"You think I'd bother with Umberlee?" Xue Yunfeng shot him a look. "Patience has always been in short supply with me, and there are even fewer things I'm willing to spend it on."
Lu Huayu curled his lip. "Rose or Umberlee—which would you choose?"
"What the fuck did I do to deserve having to choose between those two?" Xue Yunfeng still failed to hold back.
"Looks like those glasses aren't doing much. You might as well take them off. They really are ugly." Lu Huayu smiled faintly.
Xue Yunfeng remained completely unmoved, his voice still ice-cold. "You think that was me losing it?
That's just everyday conversation.
What I need is one last chain to hold me back from pointing at the sky and letting loose in public... at least so I don't curse out the locals' Supreme God to their faces.
It doesn't need to be particularly sturdy. A reminder is enough."
The corner of Lu Huayu's mouth twitched... as the formidable man who had single-handedly turned Umberlee into the overgrown child she was today, he simply couldn't imagine how much Xue Yunfeng had suffered to look so utterly done with life.
After all, Snow Old Dog... had originally been a nickname coined by enemies like them.
Of course, their insults back then had been nastier. Generally, they always made sure to link him to a certain breed of snow dog.
His awful personality, vicious tongue, and ability to instantly regain his fighting spirit were no different from that creature's, after all.
As for the difference in intelligence... who would admit that their enemy was smart?
The more someone possessed a quality, the harder you had to grind it into the mud.
