Coyle's eyes widened in surprise. He raised a hand to look at the gemstone ring on his own finger, then turned to look at the Purple Peridot set in the ring on his student's hand.

Then he swiftly glanced at the storage rings casually worn by the two apprentices standing behind Gilbert.

Obviously, if they belonged to the same master-disciple line, he and Stine could not have been given two different gemstones.

He had been the one to propose the cooperation. If he backed out now over something that had not even been confirmed yet... Coyle was not stupid. Did he really think Gilbert was some broad-minded saint?

True, Gilbert would not cause trouble for him now, but Coyle did not think he would never face a crisis where he desperately needed someone to lend him a hand.
