If Kament Tower really had some ulterior motive, would he and Rute really make trouble for him over a Seventh-Circle Mage, especially one who was Kament Tower's own student?
It was not as though they wanted Rommel dead. They merely wanted him to have nowhere to trade for resources.
He had so many good things but could not use any of them on himself... No matter how steadfast Rommel was, he would naturally waver a little under such circumstances.
It was not as if they were asking him to sell himself for those resources. They only wanted him to show Glasya a little kindness. Rommel would not refuse over something so trivial.
But whatever the reason, once he started becoming entangled with Glasya, he would naturally give way step by step.
With Glasya's famously lovesick nature, she would never truly exchange resources with Rommel at a fair rate.
Once you took someone's gifts, you became indebted to them.
Once Rommel could no longer resist Glasya's enthusiasm, he would sooner or later willingly enter that White Tower.
Those Archmages of Sia Tower were each more sinister and vicious than the last.
If they really pulled it off... Rommel, who clearly came from Black Mystery Tower, would instead become their enemy.
And if they used Rommel to deal with them, they could bypass certain open restrictions.
Not to mention that they had been the ones to offend Rommel first. Even if that were not counted, it would still be internal strife within Black Mystery Tower. What did it have to do with Sia Tower?
It was not as if Rute could not figure
