Martha greeted him brightly, a warm smile on her pretty face. "Long time no see, Mr. Lynn. Our master has added a few features to the Maze.
"Please come with me! Visibility isn't very good right now, so be sure to stay close, Mr. Lynn~
"Master is waiting for you at the entrance!"
Hill had been a little worried, so he had come to wait for Lynn at the entrance to the dimensional space.
The Mythal and the Maze were different things. Combined, their power did far more than double, and the Mythal could easily cause hallucinations. Hill was afraid that if Lynn's attention wandered, an illusion might lure him away from Martha.
But Lynn looked alert. He clearly knew a Mage's tricks well enough to understand that anything singled out as unsafe was dangerous to him.
"Good afternoon, Lynn." Hill welcomed his friend, whom he hadn't seen in some time. "How about another feast of fruit and fresh vegetables?"
"Nothing would be better." Lynn laughed heartily. "Why else would I come visiting at noon?"
Hill couldn't help laughing. The guests Lynn had cleared out of his tavern had passed by here that morning.
They had cursed Lynn all the way, convinced he had lost his mind. Who made guests get up and check out before dawn in the middle of winter?
Hill glanced at Lynn, who plainly didn't care about being cursed. That was the confidence of someone with the only game in town.
Food and a warm bed weren't the only things those people wanted from Lynn. More important was the safety of their lives and property.
As long as Lynn could keep serious trouble out of his tavern, those adventurers would still choose to spend the winter there.
