Early the next morning, Hill took Telly to the farm outside the city.
They spent half the day there.
Telly had discovered that Hill was growing plenty of fruit and nuts from outside the Northlands, and he wanted a taste.
Fortunately, Hill's main focus was staple crops. Even after Telly perched in a tree and ate more than half the fruit, Hill didn't mind.
Telly hadn't eaten much of the Northlands fruit and nuts, either. With those still available, Hill could open the roadside inn he had planned.
Once people stopped there, they would become interested in Aglaia's temple.
In a place like Faerûn, many people would show respect to any deity they encountered, even one they had never heard of, as long as it wasn't an evil god.
But this world had far too many deities. Most people couldn't claim to know them all.
When they returned home that afternoon, Hill found a pile of invitations in his mailbox.
He took the thick stack of letters to his study, with Telly following him in.
Telly stared in surprise at the towering walls of books on three sides of the room. Scratching his head, he said, "You like reading that much? I brought some books with me this time. You can't look at the Draconic magic books, but you can make copies of all the others."
Hill nodded readily. "That would be wonderful. I've bought nearly every book available in Silver Moon City, apart from the antique ones."
"Human antique books really aren't worth much," Telly said, spreading his hands. "Unless they're made of gold."
Hill knew Telly wanted to repay him not only for saving his life, but also for the dragon's lair he would have in the future.
