Hill sat aboard the ship, puzzling over it for a long time. He could not understand how he had stumbled into this affair, so he began reviewing his recent thoughts one by one.
Then he remembered. After hearing what Lynn had said, he had wondered where the missing princes and princesses had been taken.
After death, their souls should have returned to the Divine Kingdom. But they had not.
For two days, troubled by the matter, Hill had kept wondering how it had been done and whether an Evil God, Demons, or Devils had been involved.
And now fate had given him a chance to find out?
Hill felt wronged. He had only been thinking about it!
He had come out this time because of a message from Oberon. He wanted to make a preliminary search for the place where the stars had shattered and, if he happened upon a Demiplane still forming, leave his mark on it.
Ideally, he would find a Large Demiplane first, then a smaller one. Its laws would not yet be fully formed, so he could seal it inside his Mage Tower and bring it back. Of course, Hill was thinking of the Otherworld Whale.
Once he returned, he could connect a Dimension Door leading to the Large Demiplane to the small Demiplane inside the whale. Then, whichever world he went to, he could always come home.
The trouble was that the Large Demiplane Hill wanted would practically count as a world whose laws were not quite complete. It would take a great deal of time and an enormous quantity of resources to bring it to maturity and imprint it with his aura.
And Hill could not be sure he would even find such a Demiplane.
