She and her guards appeared to be constantly on the move, but the Bull Demon had hardly engaged the Undead head-on. He only occasionally swung his massive club at Knights who Charged too close.
But they had placed too much faith in Graz'zt's son, who had already fled. They had never imagined Hill would have so much time to locate the Demon Priest.
Did they really think the Dark Prince's son would obediently listen to someone he considered expendable? He simply hadn't wanted to anger Graz'zt, who was watching through the high-ranking Priest's eyes. Now that he had decided to leave Hellgate, he no longer needed to care whether she reported him.
On the surface, Graz'zt was remarkably indulgent toward his children. Even when their feuds killed countless siblings, he could still play the loving father.
Demons had a startling notion of paternal love. The Dark Prince genuinely believed he adored his children, and he took immense pride in their plots to overthrow him. Of course, he would never let them succeed; he had no intention of surrendering his throne. Just when a child thought victory was within reach, Graz'zt would share the story with Demon Lords, Evil Gods, or Outlands Sorcerers and wizards important enough to converse with him.
He was genuinely delighted and proud as he told those stories. Unfortunately, the children who heard about them through other channels did not share their father's feelings.
But if they let that crush them, they would likely end up dead at the hands of a sibling who refused to give up. Their only choice was to keep fighting in the blood feud.
By comparison, slipping away from this
