Good fortune came in pairs. While Lynn led the city guards in checking the supplies delivered from Long Saddle Town, good news came from the Undead: they had finally found an underground passage wide enough for a large force.
The White Dragon Queen had known about the passage all along, but she had kept looking for another way in. This one lay beneath the lair of Arauthator, the White Death.
Until that Primordial White Dragon willingly moved to Hidden Forest, Arveiaturace did not want to anger her mate. He would be no match for the Terrasil Elves and would have to leave in the end, but she still hoped the old companion who had sheltered her for so many years could make a dignified exit.
But as the Terrasil Elves searching the southwestern reaches of the Spine of the World with some of the White Dragons grew increasingly irritable, Arveiaturace began to worry they would find Arauthator's cliff.
Fortunately, after the first group of White Dragons contracted by the Undead received their first month's pay, Arauthator finally became interested. The Primordial White Dragon was not necessarily willing to sign a contract with anyone, but he planned to follow the example of Tasting the Mercury Dragon and take temporary jobs from Hidden Forest.
Surely he was worth more than that obnoxious Mercury Dragon!
Without hesitation, he moved all his possessions into a mountain beside the great lake named Star Lake in Hidden Forest, becoming Hidden Town's neighbor from a thousand meters away.
After he moved, the White Dragon Queen asked what he intended to do with the passage. It was, after all, the route the White Death used whenever he ran short of money and wanted to raid the Underdark.
But raiding the Underdark was not easy for White Dragons, who
