A Plot Before the Tournament

All right, asking someone to go easy on him was probably out of the question. William had no need to do that anyway.

What he needed to do now was prepare for battle.

He knew how prestigious the first Epic Title Tournament would be. Even without the four great neutral powers taking part, it would be an event of the highest caliber.

Two fighters in particular had broken into the top ranks among the many reincarnated deities. Both were absurdly strong.

The first was Aikeros of the Sunset Empire, who ranked fourth.

The other was Acaro, son of the Chaos City Lord, who ranked sixth.

Aikeros might have looked like an ordinary Wind Element Magic Swordsman, but his command of wind was beyond anything most people could imagine.

Swordsmanship, though, was his greatest strength. At the tournament, he would earn the title Wind Demon Sword Venerate, a name people would keep using even after he reached the Saint Tier.

As for Acaro, he possessed both space and Time Talents. Before William had gotten himself killed, Acaro still had not reached the Saint Tier.

But he had been virtually invincible at the Legendary Tier. The man was a monster.

Time passed, little by little.

Seven days later,

some of the powers at the top of the Legendary Continent had already learned the news: in a month, the Three Major Empires would jointly host the Epic Title Tournament.

Paul Bain of the Eastern Region Mercenary Alliance cursed the timing of the tournament, but he had no choice but to withdraw his troops again.
