Deep within the Slytherin Common Room, the Prefects' Council Chamber shrouded in powerful warding spells was exceptionally quiet tonight. The green fire in the fireplace did not crackle as it usually did, but burned silently, its heat magically confined within the hearth without giving off a trace of excess warmth. Light seeped from the flames, casting wavering, ghostly green patches across the black stone walls, like underwater weeds slowly drifting beneath the surface.
The room was not large, but after half a year of expansion and the layered use of the Undetectable Extension Charm, it could accommodate hundreds of people. There were no tapestries, no portraits, no decorations on the walls—only bare black stone that looked like coal soaked in water beneath the green fire. The floor was covered in dark carpeting, which made no sound beneath their feet. At the center of the room stood a rectangular oak table, its surface engraved with dense protective runes. Those runes could not be seen in low light and gave off only a faint dark-red glow when magic flowed through them.
At that moment, the runes were dark. But the objects on the table were glowing.
Theodore Nott sat at one end of the long table, with a small black leather case before him. It looked ordinary, even somewhat worn, its corners rubbed pale and its brass clasp covered in a faint layer of verdigris. But if someone scanned it with a detection spell, they would discover that its surface bore at least seven layers of different protective spells—anti-detection, anti-opening, anti-spatial transfer, anti-magical leakage, anti-temporal interference, anti-fate scrying, and another layer that even Nott himself did not know the nature of, said to be an "Existence Concealment" personally cast by Lord Madara.
He was waiting. Waiting for everyone to arrive.
