Until He Fully Recovered

Before the glass chamber, wrecked into a complete mess, tears streamed endlessly from Si Jinyan's eyes. The tip of his tail swayed restlessly behind him as his tears condensed into large pearls and rolled down, striking the laboratory floor with crisp chimes.

The surroundings were utterly silent until Chi Li broke the silence. "Si Jinyan?"

Si Jinyan's reddened eyes fixed on him.

Seeing that Si Jinyan's eyes had yet to recover, Chi Li hesitated for a moment before reaching out.

Si Jinyan froze. The moment he blinked, a warm tear fell into Chi Li's palm. It seemed to carry immense weight, making Chi Li's heart tremble.

Chi Li had only wanted to pat Si Jinyan's arm and tell him to stop crying, but the next second, Si Jinyan pulled him tightly into his arms.

Si Jinyan's tall body enclosed Chi Li. The warm scales on his chest pressed against Chi Li's cheek, and in the instant Chi Li stood stunned, intense emotions came rushing at him with Si Jinyan's pheromones.

After the marking, both Chi Li and Si Jinyan had discovered that they could convey emotions through pheromones, sense each other's feelings, and share subtler emotional fluctuations beyond anger.

This change seemed to suddenly forge a deeper, undeniable connection between them. However, Chi Li hardly ever released pheromones voluntarily. Since he knew Chi Li disliked them, Si Jinyan rarely released pheromones except when necessary to soothe him.

Now, Chi Li was surrounded by Si Jinyan's out-of-control pheromones. The panic, tension, grief, anger, and guilt carried through them flooded into Chi Li's consciousness.

Never before had he felt such intense, unmasked emotions. They gave Chi Li no chance to refuse as they invaded his domain, turning what had been a placid lake into a thousand raging waves beneath an outside storm.
