Be Good (First Update)

At the appointed time, Chi Li pushed open the door to Lu Jiu's office.

Lu Jiu was wearing that white lab coat today, looking down at his Neural Computer. He seemed more serious than usual. Hearing the movement, he looked up at Chi Li, then let his gaze drift behind him.

Chi Li replied, "He's been sedated. He probably won't follow us for a while."

To be safe, Lu Jiu had given Chi Li two anesthetic injections.

If Si Jinyan suddenly barged in during the procedure, not only would the operation be interrupted, but if Si Jinyan were provoked and broke his current stable state again, it would not just be Chi Li who could get hurt. Others might be injured as well.

Chi Li stepped closer. "Let's begin."

Lu Jiu's gaze darkened slightly. "Let's go."

Lu Jiu led Chi Li toward the operating room. Chi Li remained silent along the way. When Lu Jiu glanced sideways at him, he saw Chi Li's brows faintly furrowed, as though something weighed on his mind.

"Nervous?" Lu Jiu asked.

Chi Li shook his head.

He was not nervous about the upcoming operation. Since Lu Jiu had agreed to do this, it meant he was confident.

The unease lurking in Chi Li's heart was likely the result of his "experience" after spending so long with Si Jinyan. There always seemed to be unexpected situations around Si Jinyan, things that could easily spiral out of control.

Chi Li asked, "How long will this take?"

"Hard to say. You know the current situation is rather unusual." Lu Jiu had never handled a similar case before.

Seeing Chi Li's somewhat grim expression, Lu Jiu raised a hand and patted his shoulder. "But don't worry. There won't be any major problems."
