Background

Eggy first develops inside Chi Li as an egg-shaped, mermaid-influenced child. Si Jinyan secretly conceals his existence with bewitchment and protects him with pheromones, while teaching him to obey and avoid making Chi Li angry. Eggy becomes attached to Chi Li despite being warned that Chi Li may reject him. When Eggy first tries to gain Chi Li’s attention, he senses overwhelming killing intent and becomes deeply frightened. 62 64

After becoming capable of thought and limited speech, Eggy comforts Si Jinyan and calls him “Father.” He later exists outside Chi Li’s body as a premature egg kept in an incubator, where he depends on pheromones and Si Jinyan’s care to develop.
