Story Role / Major Arcs

Initial conflict with Huo Yuhao

Huo Yuhao detects Dai in the Soul Duel Arena through his White Tiger aura and singles him out with a freezing aura, forcing Dai to flee the stands. Huo Yuhao treats the incident as a preliminary warning and begins planning revenge. 29 30

Dai formally challenges Huo Yuhao for the title of strongest freshman. Huo dismisses him as unworthy, then secretly plants ice spikes that injure Dai’s hands and legs before the assessment begins. 38

Freshman Assessment

Dai provokes Huo Yuhao by recounting the death of the other Huo Yuhao. Huo retaliates by restricting Dai’s breathing, binding him in ice, and leaving him displayed outside a restaurant as an ice sculpture. 49 50

His overnight absence after the incident results in a public reprimand and the loss of his eligibility to become a core disciple. 52

During their round-of-sixteen match, Huo Yuhao draws Dai into Illusion Realm, where Dai is forced to experience an extended reversal of the abuse he inflicted on Huo Yuhao. Unable to escape or harm himself, Dai eventually begs for release. 54 55

Dai attempts to challenge Huo Yuhao to a wager before the Advancement Assessment, but his confidence collapses after learning that Huo has reached the Soul King realm. 71

Later consequences

Dai’s hostility damages Dai Yueheng’s ability to lead Shrek’s Outer Court students, who refuse to follow his commands because of his connection to Dai Huabin. 87 90
