Background / History

Six Doors originated from the previous dynasty's Demon Suppression Division. After the Great Jin Dynasty was founded, it took over the former division's prison in Xia Province, including the sealed demonic artifact held within it 211.

The organization inherited six grand halls from the Demon Suppression Division. The Great Ancestor later split the six halls apart, leaving only two within Six Doors; the other four hall positions remain occupied by figures outside the organization 291.

As an instrument of imperial power, Six Doors was established to restrain regional martial factions. Its personnel are institutionally encouraged to avoid close ties with aristocratic families, and opposition to such families can accelerate promotion 114 160.

Organization and Ranks

Six Doors uses both official rank and robe color to identify personnel. Official position does not always equal cultivation level; commandants commonly possess cultivation above their nominal organizational rank 114.

Reincarnation Hall

The Reincarnation Hall is one of the two halls remaining within Six Doors. Its Red Robes operate under Hall Master Yan Luo; Chen Ming is assigned there as Shang Xiangrong's deputy in the intelligence department 312.

The hall possesses at least forty-nine seats for Divine Treasury Realm-level Red Robes, though forty were vacant when Chen Ming was inducted 312.

Prison System

Six Doors maintains major prisons for dangerous martial criminals. Its Xia Province prison contains multiple levels, including cells for Second Rank and First Rank prisoners, while the sealed third level is accessed through a painted door opened by a specialized artifact 218 219.

The prison's third level held the demonic Zhichi Sword, an artifact capable of raising a practitioner of the Nine Underworlds Great Art to First Rank immediately 211 222.

Merit and Martial Resources

Six Doors rewards captures and killings of wanted criminals with public recognition, monetary bounties, and merit. It may parade through the streets to announce a successful bounty claim 130.

Merit is measured in stars and can be exchanged for martial techniques, pills, weapons, and other resources unavailable through ordinary commerce 134.

• Access to the Martial Repository and advanced martial arts is obtained through accumulated merit 23.
• A four-star bounty is generally sufficient to pursue a Sixth Rank martial artist; Fifth and Fourth Rank targets are commonly assigned five and six stars respectively 134.
• Red Robes receive High-grade Mystic Realm quotas once they meet the required cultivation, and may exchange sufficient merit for Top-grade Mystic Realm access 312.

Law Enforcement

Six Doors conducts raids, citywide crackdowns, travel-document inspections, and arrests of suspected criminals 79 114.

Six Doors' relationship with local martial powers is openly adversarial. In Qingfeng City, officials and merchants once ensured that no Third Rank expert would be permanently stationed there by reducing the local chief's rank to Fifth Rank Commandant 51.

The organization is not uniformly dominant across the Great Jin Dynasty. In Xia Province, it competes with the Eight Righteous Sect and suffers limited influence over rampant local martial factions 200 207.
