Inside the Containment Chamber, Hamil studied the remains before him. His hands were tucked into his wide sleeves, and his brow furrowed as he thought.

Dimensional creatures came in countless varieties, with wildly different forms and abilities. At the broadest level, though, they could be divided into physical and elemental types.

Physical dimensional creatures had conventional bodies. Taking them apart could yield valuable magical materials such as fur, scales, flesh, bones, and Energy Cores.

Elemental dimensional creatures were far trickier. Their bodies were often composed largely of energy or elements, or even manifested from pure laws or concepts. What passed for a physical form might be no more than a temporary vessel of gathered energy, free to change, disperse, or reform at any time.

Destroying them was not difficult, but turning their remains into materials that could be studied or used required considerable magical skill.

The Demon God Pioneer before them still had a humanoid shape and appeared solid, but it was closer to an elemental creature. An ordinary mage would have had no idea what to do with its remains.

Hamil was no ordinary mage. After studying them for two or three minutes, he turned to Lin Hai. "Mage Lin Hai, I have some ideas about how to handle these remains."

"But the Containment Chamber's conditions are unusual. Its suppression is too strong for some of the finer magic I'll need, so I must take the remains to my private courtyard. I'll contact you to collect them once I'm done."

Delight spread across Lin Hai's face. "That's wonderful! Sorry for the trouble, Mage Hamil. Thank you!"

Hamil waved a hand and smiled. "No need to thank me, Mage Lin Hai. Compared with what you did to restore my left hand, this is a small favor."
