The madman who had been swinging electric whips just moments ago now had his head hanging down and his arms dangling at his sides. He was sprawled over the hood without moving, looking as though he had been run over and killed.
Happy panted heavily, his expression caught somewhere between "What the hell did I just do?" and "I actually did that."
Tony stared at the motionless body for two seconds, and his taut nerves relaxed slightly. He walked toward Happy, his voice carrying a trace of complaint but noticeably lighter in tone.
"Were you trying to hit me, or him?"
Although Pepper had come here with Happy because she was worried about Tony's safety, seeing that Tony was still alive and kicking after everything that had happened finally broke her composure. Through the open car window, she shouted at Tony, who was still arguing with Happy outside, "Tony! Get in! Get in the car, now!"
Tony glanced at her, then at the unmoving figure sprawled across the hood. He then unhurriedly walked toward the door on the other side. As far as he was concerned, the madman was dead and the threat had been eliminated.
But several metal frames that looked hand-welded were strapped to Ivan Vanko's body, with similar protection around his arms and shoulders. Though crude, they could absorb part of the impact from the sedan.
