Silk, Spider-Woman, and Gwen stood frozen, shock in their eyes. For a long time, none of them could speak.
Silk and Spider-Woman knew better than anyone how terrifying that hunter had become after his surge of power. Even together, the three of them had barely kept him in check. If he had gone all out, they could have been captured—or killed—at any moment.
Yet before the man in front of them, that top-tier interdimensional fighter had not even had a chance to fight back. He had lasted less than a second before being silently erased.
The gap in strength was beyond imagination, beyond comprehension.
Loren turned to the two Spider-Women from other parallel universes. His voice was calm and gentle, the chill of battle gone.
"You two came from different parallel universes. Why did you cross over, and why were you tracking that Inheritors hunter?"
Silk was the first to recover. Still shaken, she hurried to explain. "The Inheritors are an evil force that operates across the Spider-Verse.
"They survive by hunting everyone with Spider Lineage mutations. They cross between universes to capture and slaughter people like us. They've already captured and sacrificed many Spider-Men from other universes!
"We tracked their temporal fluctuations across universes and caught up with him here. If you hadn't stepped in, I would have died today!"
Spider-Woman nodded gravely. "Morlun leads the Inheritors. He's brutal and bloodthirsty, with a great many interdimensional hunters under his command. He's been searching the Multiverse for every Spider fighter he can find.
"He captures, plunders, and sacrifices them to increase his own power. This man was only an advance scout. Stronger members of the Inheritors will likely cross over after him."
Gwen walked to their side and bowed solemnly to Loren. "Thank you for saving us, Master."
