"I am Legion!"

In the next instant, a terrifying Mind Storm exploded outward from David Haller!

"Crash—"

The solid psychiatric hospital, along with every corpse, bloodstain, and trace of despair within it, lost all meaning of "existence" at that moment.

The walls turned to ash, the floor cracked apart inch by inch, and the ceiling, along with its ghastly white lights, was crushed into an illusion of nonexistence by an irresistible will.

The world came apart amid a mournful wail.

In the end, only a vast, boundless expanse of pure white emptiness remained.

Before David... or rather, Miles, the Shadow King's figure was the only "stain" in that pure white space. He had stood in the same spot from beginning to end, allowing the world to be torn apart without the slightest change in expression, his gaze fixed firmly on Miles.

After a long while, the corner of the Shadow King's mouth suddenly curled into a strange arc.

"Ah, you are not David," he said slowly. "You are still Mr. Miles."

Before his words had even faded, he reached out toward Miles.

There was no beam of energy, no physical attack—only a simple gesture.

But Miles understood. This was a declaration of war.

At the same time, Miles extended his hand as well.

"Hiss—"

The pure white space between them instantly warped and collapsed, as if two infinitely massive singularities had been thrown into it. Forces beyond description clashed across the distance, and the definition of reality became utterly worthless.

Their forms began changing madly at an unimaginable speed.

Miles felt himself turn into a cold steel statue, his very thoughts frozen solid. The next instant, he became a puddle of writhing, fetid pus, and even his awareness of "self" began to blur.

The Shadow King was no better off.
