Hank Pym was falling.
Around him, the world shattered and reassembled. Countless shards of light and shadow spun like a kaleidoscope, appearing and vanishing. Piercing noise mingled with whispers from the void, battering his mind and setting his nerves on edge.
Conqueror... Kang.
I swear on my name, Hank Pym... I'll defeat you.
Pym repeated the vow silently.
"Hiss..."
A faint sound escaped as the Wasp Suit shrank Pym in an instant, smaller and smaller, until he was a speck of dust sinking into deeper chaos.
Wasp and Ant-Man shrank after him, following his path one behind the other.
No one knew how long passed. Perhaps an instant. Perhaps an eternity.
The sensation of falling stopped abruptly.
The three found themselves standing in a deathly still, pitch-black space. Beneath their feet, reality had barely managed to solidify.
"Have we reached the bottom?"
Scott shook his head, trying to clear the lingering dizziness.
"No. It only means the fabric of reality here is just stable enough."
Pym straightened. Something a short distance ahead immediately caught his eye.
A strange device made of several rings floated in the void, turning slowly and giving off a golden glow.
"Is that it?" Pym murmured.
"Yes, that's it." MODOK's cold, mechanical voice sounded without warning over their communications channel.
"All you have to do is restore that thing to its normal size. Then it will all be over. Understood?"
"Doesn't sound too hard." Pym answered, but his gaze suddenly sharpened.
Another version of himself had appeared before him.
"...Who are you?"
The two Pyms spoke in unison, their faces showing identical wariness and scrutiny.
At the same time, Scott and Hope froze. Another version of each stood before them too, identical down to the scratches on their suits and the shock in their eyes.
