Immortus's Castle.
"He's coming out!"
Immortus Miles cried out.
The smugness on his face had yet to fade when it was replaced by shock, then by even deeper madness.
Legion had regained control of his body!
"IM-MOR-TUS!!"
David Haller roared!
His growl sounded inhuman, more like countless souls roaring at once. The moment he appeared, he reached toward Immortus without hesitation!
There was no flash of light, no burst of energy. The space around Immortus itself began collapsing inward. Matter, light, even the laws of reality—everything was forcibly twisted by an invisible force and compressed to the limit toward an unseen "point"!
He wanted to erase Immortus, along with the spacetime coordinates he occupied!
"Stop!"
Immortus roared and raised the Eternal Crystal in his hand.
The strange object, composed of countless nested geometric forms, shone brilliantly. The absolute order it emitted firmly anchored this region of spacetime, forcibly resisting the encroachment of rewritten reality!
"The fact that you can still exist is truly a miracle, David Haller." Immortus stared fixedly at Legion's unstable, illusory consciousness and ground out, "You should have felt it! Your world, your family, your friends—they were all saved because of me!"
"You should accept the new history and obediently disappear! Instead of remaining in the present to oppose me!"
"Is that really how it is?"
Legion said mockingly, "In that newly born history, there is already another David Haller. He will be happy, he will live in peace, and he will become a hero."
"And I..." Legion lowered his head and looked at his hands, which were constantly shedding light. "I am only a discarded fragment of history, a mistake that should never have existed."
"It was you, Immortus. You personally killed 'me'!"
"I was never him to begin with!"
"I was merely a newborn personality
