This era had no need for a second Kang.
But both Rama-Tut and Kang Taijun wanted to be the only one.
That was how Kangs dealt with one another. Though they belonged to the Council of Kangs, their pride and arrogance had never changed. When their interests aligned, they could be temporary allies; when those interests clashed, neither would hesitate to strike down his own kind.
"You've overstepped, Kang Taijun!"
Rama-Tut's voice echoed through the vast hall. Before his words had faded, he attacked!
Boom!
The pharaoh slammed his golden scepter into the floor. The pigeon-blood ruby at its head flared, releasing a crimson glare too bright to look at.
The next instant, Rama-Tut swept his arm forward!
The crimson light compressed and condensed into an intensely focused high-frequency ray. It shrieked through the air, hurtling straight toward Kang Taijun's chest!
It was no magic, but a disguised high-frequency beam powerful enough to vaporize a main battle tank in an instant.
Yet Kang Taijun stepped into the deadly attack, thrusting out his metal palm to meet the beam.
Szzzt!
The searing ray struck his palm squarely, bursting into a dazzling spray of lethal energy.
The heat warped the surrounding air, but Kang Taijun's hand, forged from a special titanium alloy from another dimension, merely glowed dull red as it absorbed every bit of energy capable of melting through the planet's crust.
"An obsolete toy."
Red light flashed in Kang Taijun's electronic eyes. The armor on his arm flipped and shifted, exposing a row of black energy vents.
The crimson ray he had forcibly absorbed passed through his internal reactor, where it was converted and amplified. Then a fiercer, colder blast of blue energy roared back at Rama-Tut!
"Hmph!"
Rama-Tut's gaze sharpened. Space twisted before him, and a spherical golden shield
