"His neural responses changed again."
Conqueror Kang watched Miles move and murmured to himself, but made no attempt to stop him.
"...Hey, so I really do have to handle this myself?"
Legion's personality emerged and gave Kang an eerie smile.
The next instant, he gently reached out toward Kang.
Reality Distortion!!
"Something's wrong!"
Conqueror Kang shuddered. His body spun wildly beyond his control, compressing and collapsing into an infinitesimal singularity before vanishing on the spot.
Pop.
With one final soft sound, even that point disappeared.
The battle was over.
The entire battlefield fell deathly silent.
"Hm?"
At the center of the battlefield, Legion's expression shifted. He whipped around to look in a certain direction.
The next moment, he vanished.
"Kang died just like that?"
Miles sensed what had happened on the distant battlefield, deep in thought.
Looks like this was the first fight. Kang hadn't had time to activate his Time Loop yet.
Then he noticed Legion's psychic presence vanish.
"Miles, did you find something?"
Cyclops noticed the change in Miles's expression and asked instinctively.
Miles withdrew his senses and turned to Scott, raising a hand. "It's nothing serious. Let's... welcome a friend."
As soon as he spoke, the air around them thickened. Ripples spread through space itself, and a figure stepped out of the warped light.
"Miles Legion" had appeared.
"Are you..."
The others froze at the sight of Legion, then instinctively glanced at Miles.
By every outward measure, the boy who had suddenly appeared looked identical to Miles. Yet Legion's eerie, dangerous presence made one thing unmistakable: he was not "Miles Zero."
"Uh..."
Scott Lang looked back and forth between Miles and Legion. "Your brother?" he ventured.
Though he had fought alongside Miles in the Quantum Realm before, he had never observed Legion up close.
"Close enough."
