Volume Five Is Over...

Volume Five was finally over.

My original intention for writing this volume was to use the plot of Ant-Man 3 as an entry point and write Conqueror Kang as the villain. But the problem was that Kang's portrayal in the original Ant-Man 3 was genuinely lackluster.

Kang was a villain who made his living through spacetime technology. If that couldn't be shown, what kind of Kang was he supposed to be?

That was why there were over a hundred Time Loops in the Quantum Realm. As long as Kang ran fast enough, Legion couldn't catch him.

Once the Ant-Man Family had assembled and dealt with Conqueror Kang, Kang Dynasty (Part One) was considered finished.

Personally, I felt the Quantum Realm arc was pretty solid. At the very least, it had a proper beginning and ending, gave the Ant-Man Family their moment to shine, and wrapped up with the "Probability Storm." Perfect.

Then I began my usual self-destructive nonsense.

After Conqueror Kang was defeated for the first time, I could actually have ended Volume Five right there. But then an idea struck me... sigh, why not pull another stunt?

Then those two "TVA" agents followed history straight to my door.

After leaving the Quantum Realm, Kang Dynasty (Part Two) officially began. The Reverse Universe, Hydra Captain, Immortus, Warden Kang, the Eternal Crystal, History Overwrite, Legion's farewell battle, Mister Sinister's return, Supreme Doom... I really let myself go with this part of the story. Once I got going, there was no stopping.

In the end, the story went all the way from the modern era to Ancient Egypt, then from Ancient Egypt to the Quantum Realm and The Void. I had to admit, this was the longest battlefront I'd ever stretched out, and also the most exhausting volume I'd ever written.
