Western Transylvania, Apuseni Mountains, Salmuse Salt Mine.
In the darkness, two figures silently appeared at the entrance to the salt mine. They were Miles and Selene.
"That sarcophagus was moved here after leaving the Red Moon Nightclub."
Miles lightly tapped his forehead. "I just confirmed it."
As his psychic power continued to grow, Miles's Telepathy now easily covered all of Eastern Europe. As long as he wished it, most thinking beings across this land could hardly escape his senses.
Selene glanced at the pitch-black mine tunnel ahead.
"Since you already know where the sarcophagus is, why not just open a portal directly?"
"Because there are traces of black magic here."
Miles looked into the depths of the mine.
The abandoned tunnels resembled a vast, intricate spiderweb, layered through the mountain's interior. The countless salt crystals embedded in the rock continuously reflected lingering energy, creating an indescribably eerie sight.
"They're waiting for us."
Miles paused, then glanced at Selene. "More precisely, they're waiting for you."
Selene gave an unconcerned chuckle.
"Then let's not keep them waiting too long."
With that, she took the lead into the mine.
Miles stood where he was and watched her for a moment before following.
Their footsteps echoed deeper into the tunnels.
The outermost tunnels still bore traces of modern mining. Rusted rails stretched along the ground, several overturned mine carts had been abandoned beside the rock walls, and rotting wooden beams supported the cracked ceiling overhead.
But after descending several hundred meters farther, the signs of human industry rapidly began to fade.
The once-regular tunnels gradually narrowed.
Salt crystals exposed in the rock walls glimmered pale in the darkness, as though countless tiny teeth had grown throughout the mountain's interior. Whenever Miles passed by, vague human faces occasionally emerged on their surfaces before swiftly vanishing
