Outside Hamilton City, at the temporary garrison camp outside the Vorgan Building.
Inside a tent, General Joseph was reporting to his superiors through a communicator.
"The First Action Force has arrived. Next—"
His voice abruptly cut off. A chill crept up from behind him, making him unconsciously freeze in place.
The general stiffly turned around and discovered that, at some unknown moment, a figure in a black striped cloak had silently appeared behind him, wearing a faint smile.
"Mr. Nathaniel."
The general's mind went blank, yet his body instinctively snapped to attention and delivered a standard military salute.
The instant Mr. Sinister appeared, his perception had been silently altered. The man before him was now the highest-ranking superior he had to obey unconditionally.
"Relax, General Joseph." Mr. Sinister's voice was calm and elegant. "Have those Mutants made any new moves?"
"Reporting, sir, no." General Joseph shook his head, then asked, "Sir, there aren't many of them, and we have the advantage in manpower. Why not launch a full assault now?"
"Because they are going to resurrect Magneto," Mr. Sinister answered casually.
"Then shouldn't we rush over and stop them immediately?" The general was even more confused.
"Because you do not understand the significance of this experiment, General Joseph." A strange fervor flickered in Mr. Sinister's eyes. "Magneto's soul carries his abilities. If he can be successfully resurrected, it means my research into 'soul evolution' has found another breakthrough... So, in a sense, I may even want them to succeed more than they do."
"This..." General Joseph said cautiously. "But what if... Magneto loses control after being resurrected?"
"He is only one Magneto."
Mr. Sinister slowly turned around and said casually, "If I can kill him once, I can kill him a second time."
