Long Island, New York, military testing grounds.

Commands from the control center were transmitted through encrypted signals. At the center of the field, the truck-sized Hive armored base platform emitted a dull mechanical clatter as its exits slowly opened on both sides.

Bzzzz—

The dense roar of engines blended into one. More than twenty Hornet drones, each the size of a human head, shot out like murderous bees leaving a hive. Skimming less than a meter above the grass, they lunged viciously toward the military fortifications a hundred meters away.

On the testing ground's viewing platform, the large screen showed red humanoid targets representing living beings moving through the fortifications.

Boom!

A rocket precisely tore through the metal doors of the main building.

Immediately afterward, several Hornet drones equipped with sustained-fire weapons entered in tactical formation.

Bang! Bang! Bang...

They did not pause for even a moment to search for targets, as though they had long known the location of every one of them. A crossfire grid formed instantly, accurately blasting the moving targets to pieces one by one.

Advance, fire, turn, suppress.

Through the real-time video feeds transmitted by the drones, everyone on the viewing platform clearly witnessed the Hornets' efficient and merciless tactical coordination.

After clearing all the outer targets, the final drone charged into the main building.

Boom—!!!

A massive fireball surged into the sky. The reinforced concrete bunker, built to military standards, was completely blown apart from within as thick smoke billowed upward.

After completing their mission, the more than twenty drones swiftly returned along their original route, filing neatly into the Hive mobile base, which had already begun moving slowly, and vanished from everyone's sight.

Inside the viewing platform, Justine Hammer
