The Mirror Dimension shattered in midair like a pane of smashed glass.
Twisted city streets, inverted skyscrapers—all the bizarre fragments silently dissipated, turning into the most primal specks of energy.
Strange and Mordo fell out of that fractured void and crashed heavily onto the Sanctum's cold marble floor.
Strange coughed up blood and struggled to his feet. His red Cloak of Levitation had several tears in it, and his face was bruised, but his eyes were harder and brighter than before. He had won, in his own way, and held fast to his bottom line.
Mordo, however, had completely fallen apart.
He knelt on the ground with both hands braced against the floor, his hollow eyes sweeping over everything before him. The Sanctum had become ruins, its walls riddled with bottomless holes—traces of Chu Hang and Dormammu's clash. Savage cracks split the floor, as though the earth itself were groaning.
At last, his gaze locked onto the man kneeling on one knee not far away, golden steam still rising from his body.
That man was like a walking disaster. His very existence was the greatest blasphemy against every rule.
"Do you see it, Strange..." Mordo's voice was dry and hoarse, like rusted iron scraping together. "This is the price. This is the price of your abuse of power!"
He slowly rose to his feet. The last trace of struggle and pain vanished from his eyes, leaving behind only a chilling calm.
"The Ancient One stole the power of the Dark Dimension to prolong her Life Law. For victory, you freely toyed with the laws of time." Mordo raised a trembling hand and pointed at Chu Hang. "If the man before you one day becomes an existence like Dormammu, it will be a disaster for the world."
A twisted, sorrowful smile
