A voice exploded in Chu Hang's mind.
"Chu Hang!"
The voice did not pass through his ears. It was pure will, mixed with the roar of thunder and the screech of tearing metal, crossing an immeasurable distance to crash directly into his consciousness.
Images flooded in after it, shattered and chaotic.
Thor knelt amid dark red ruins, using Mjolnir to support himself.
White mist billowed from his mouth with every breath. His blond hair was matted with blood and dust, and his armor was covered in scorched cracks. The armor plate on his left shoulder was gone, exposing a mangled wound that still sparked with electricity.
He was surrounded by enemies wearing deathly pale masks, silently encircling him.
"The Aether... Jane... they're in their hands... I need..."
The voice cut off, and the image went dark.
Tony and Pepper had heard nothing. They only saw Chu Hang's expression change in an instant. Those eyes that always seemed somewhat lazy had turned icy, carrying a chilling edge.
"What happened?" Tony asked instinctively.
The coldness on Chu Hang's face quickly faded, returning to his usual indifferent look.
"A friend got into a group fight, and he's about to lose. He called me for backup," he summarized simply.
He looked at the two bewildered people before him and shrugged.
"I'm heading out on business. You two carry on."
As soon as he finished speaking, the air where he stood twisted violently. His figure blurred, turned transparent, and then vanished into thin air with a soft pop.
Only Tony and Pepper remained in the workshop, along with a smell similar to ozone.
"He... the magic he talked about, was it real?" It took Pepper a long while to find her voice.
