With Huron's arrival, the inspection officially began.
The first to march out was the Special Operations Brigade's formation, equipped with MA-2 suits. Their fully enclosed Exoskeletons with powered frames made them look like little cans.
The perfectly uniform formation slowly crossed the square to stirring music, drawing wave after wave of cheers from the spectators in the stands.
Then came rows of Chimera Armored Vehicles driving abreast. Built to suit fleet combat and urban warfare, they differed from the more common Chimera variants.
Aside from a few command vehicles fitted with communications equipment on their roofs, the rest had abandoned their roof-mounted turrets in favor of thicker armor across the entire vehicle, allowing them to serve as mobile cover.
Trojan logistics support vehicles, General Cargo Trucks, Basilisk Self-propelled Artillery, Griffin Self-propelled Mortars... formation after formation of vehicles rolled past the inspection square, displaying Badab's productive capacity.
After a period of recovery and development, the fourteen Hive Cities had seen their manufacturing capabilities rise significantly. They were still somewhat stretched when it came to planet-scale construction projects and environmental improvement, but supplying all manner of conventional armored vehicles was more than manageable.
Especially with the system's various Decisions enhancing them, Badab factories often exceeded the theoretical limits envisioned during their design, reaching levels that left most engineers and managers dumbfounded.
Not to mention that only ten Special Operations Brigades would be following the Warships into battle this time. Even adding another zero would only cost a little over half a year of production capacity. Badab would feel no pressure at all.
The final formations, naturally, were the three Chapters—the centerpiece of it all.
The yellow-armored Lamenters and green-armored Mantis Warriors each sent two Companies, more than two hundred men apiece, forming two squares as they slowly crossed the inspection ground.
