Early the next morning, the lights in the study of the First Prince's Residence were lit half an hour earlier than usual.

Xue Qinghe flipped to the last page of the roster delivered the night before. Several separately selected resource allocation sheets already lay beside it.

Among the six noble-recommended students, two had fairly outstanding Soul Power and Martial Souls, and their allocated resources did not differ much from those of students at the same level. The other four, however, were rather eye-catching.

The most conspicuous of them was Luo Wei, son of Earl Rod.

Twelve years old, Level 16, Martial Soul: Rockhorn Deer. Twenty hours per month in the Advanced Mimicry Training Ground.

Xue Qinghe pulled out another file.

Lin Qi, also twelve years old, Level 19, Martial Soul: Red-Striped Leopard. He had entered through the Academy's standard assessment and received only twelve hours per month.

His Soul Power was three levels higher, yet his resources were nearly half as much.

Xue Qinghe did not immediately put pen to paper. He closed the roster and had a carriage prepared.

Some things could not be seen clearly from within a study. The Royal Academy happened to be holding an exchange with young Spirit Masters from the Tiangou Spirit Sanctuary that day. By the time Xue Qinghe arrived, more than a dozen people were already standing on the other side of the training ground.

Lu Yuan was among them.

He wore the fitted uniform prepared by the Spirit Sanctuary that day, with two young Spirit Masters beside him. The two spotted each other across half the training ground, but merely nodded slightly, as they usually did before outsiders, without any further exchange.
