Background

Tyrion is a Lannister dwarf long accustomed to mockery, prejudice, and being treated as less than an ordinary person. During a private meeting in the Kingswood, Joffrey treats him with unusual respect and reveals the truth about Tysha: she was a farmer's daughter rather than a prostitute, and Jaime had admitted it. The revelation gives Tyrion both renewed hope and a lasting resolve to find Tysha, defy his father's contempt, and one day marry her publicly. 1
