An Chen's heart jolted, but he did not panic in the slightest.
"Boy, you didn't run away all last night. You really do have some nerve!"
Veins bulging on his face and his eyes thick with bloodshot streaks, Nangong Pojun gritted his teeth as he looked at An Chen, whom he had captured.
"Carl! Come take him away!"
After shouting, Nangong Pojun gestured with his eyes toward the pale-faced man beside him, who had already fainted.
Someone jogged out of the nearby woods. She had lost both hands, and her face was full of deference.
It was none other than Nangong Pojun's retainer, Carl. An Chen had crippled her hands.
An Chen stared at her with wide eyes, unable to utter a word.

Carl jogged over and gently raised her handless arms. The unconscious, deathly pale man beside them flew over and landed on her back.
Having done all this, she ran toward the woods, not forgetting to shoot An Chen a venomous glare before leaving.
But An Chen paid it no mind. The shadow beneath him stirred. The captive An Chen had already been replaced by a Shadow Servant, while he himself slipped into the shadows.
The Fallen Star Knight noticed nothing unusual. He still used gravity to pin him firmly in midair, glaring at him through gritted teeth, wishing he could tear him into ten thousand pieces.
But a faint glint crossed Ulysses's eyes nearby. His gaze followed An Chen into the distance, as though he had seen An Chen's true body escape.
"Mr. Nangong, we've said all that needed saying. I won't disturb you any further." Ulysses
