All of this sounded long, but it actually happened in the flash of a spark.
The two gate-guarding fellows outside the house finally realized something was wrong, and carrying weapons, they charged into the dark house, only to see a pair of scarlet eyes erupting with terrifying light within!
The moment that gaze landed on them, the two felt as though they had plunged into an ice cave, their entire bodies stiff, unable to even conjure the thought of raising their sabers.

The door of the house shattered, and two figures flew backward, tracing arcs in the air before hitting the courtyard with a thud and rolling several times, blood dragging two dark-red, long trails across the blue bricks.
The two deputy gang leaders, who had hurried over from the side courtyard upon hearing the commotion, had just arrived along with a dozen or so underlings under their command.
One carried a long saber and the other held a staff, and right now they were staring in terror at the corpses on the ground!
As for those two corpses on the ground, one had its chest and abdomen largely rotted away, half a row of ribs exposed outside, hanging with bloody, mangled flesh while intestines spilled all over the ground and still steaming; the other had its neck mostly snapped, the head pressed down beneath the body, with only the upper half of a pale, bone-white spine sticking out from the severed opening like a broken bone spur.
The two deputy gang leaders exchanged a glance, their backs growing cold as they felt a chill rise straight from the bottoms of their hearts!
The underlings behind them were even more scared out of their wits, their faces drained of all color!
