(Thanks to .God-Emperor Brutally Ramming Nurgle. for the reward bonus chapter, 5/5. Thanks again.
P.S. While chatting with an old reader from the group, I did some self-reflection.
That old reader told me a lot, and the author found several of his points very useful.
He said the core appeal of this book was the constant collecting and upgrading. Readers would look forward to seeing what good things the protagonist could find and how he would grow stronger.
But what I was writing had seriously drifted away from that theme. The protagonist had basically stopped going into maps to search for things and had stopped acquiring new things, so there was no longer that continuous sense of satisfaction.
After thinking it over, I felt he was right, so I planned to make some changes. While preserving the current storytelling, I would add back the Search-Fight-Extract elements.
It was just that this new arc had already begun, so please give me another twenty to thirty chapters. Once I finished this instance, I would return to the Search-Fight-Extract rhythm.
The protagonist's warship was already being repaired, so Search-Fight-Extract would be easier to set up afterward.
From now on, the protagonist's warship would be his base. He could collect weapons from other damaged warships in Space Hulks to upgrade his own ship.
He could also search for lost heavy tanks and armored vehicles, or perhaps some legendary battle armor, Terminator Armour.
He could even figure out a way to get some Astartes to play with. Someone previously suggested having the protagonist trade with the Crybaby Chapter, find a way to get Gene-seeds for his aides and sons, establish an illegal Chapter, and so on. There would be plenty of ways to play.
Thank you all for your suggestions.)
